Covenant Cross

"... the lord is acting as the witness between you and the wife of your youth,...she is your partner, the wife of your marriage covenant.  Has not the Lord made them one?  In flesh and spirit they are His."  Malachi 2:14-15

The God of the Bible makes and keeps covenants.  He never makes a promise lightly of fails to keep His word.  The cross powerfully sealed his commitment to us.  In a wonderful way, the marriage covenant is a symbol of the covenants of God.  It is more than a promise or good intention, it is a holy vow made before witness.

Anita created this cross in honor of the wedding of her nephew Jonathan.  The dove on the front signifies the presence of the Holy spirit witnessing to the covenant.  The two rings on the back are reminders of wedding rings.  The larger ring that surrounds the smaller indicates the leadership and protection that Jesus Christ provides for His people and that the husband provides for his wife.  Finally, the nails go through the front to the back and bind the two rings together,  symbolizing how Jesus binds us to each other and to Himself.
