Daniel in the Lions' Den
"My God sent His angel and shut the lions' mouths and they have not harmed me, in as much as I was found innocent before Him..." Daniel 6:22
Daniel was a victim of jealousy and betrayal because of his excellent character. The princes and presidents over which he had been given authority sought to remove him because the king thought of setting him over the whole reim. Since his enemies could find no fault in Daniel, they set out to trap him because of his devotion to God. which included praying to God three times a day. They tricked the king into making a law that would not allow any of the people to pray to anyone but the king for thirty days, the penalty was being thrown into the lions' den.
Just as Daniel was accused, Satan, the enemy, is still falsely accusing Christians. He tries to keep us from serving God by having us look at the trials we are experiencing. Many of God's people are sick, oppressed, discouraged, depressed and feeling hopeless. At times we also feel like we are about to be devoured by lions. We must be like Daniel, "Who through faith...stopped the mouths of lions." (Hebrews 11:33)
Anita created this piece to look like a cave or a den with three lions in it. The cave or den represents the place of trial in which we find ourselves and the lions.
