SHOUT VICTORY

"We will shout for joy when you are victorious and will lift up our banners in the name of our God. May the Lord grant all your requests." Psalm 20:5

Victory is a goal that has been reached, an obstacle that has been conquered or a challenge that has been overcome. In sports, when our team wins, we lift our hands, shout for joy, ring bells and wave banners. We publicly declare our team's number-one status in the ranks and encourage them to go forward with confidence. There are other victories in life, however, that are not calculated on a giant score board. Sometimes the victories are small, measured in moments. In the course of a single day, overcoming the smallest of tasks can be counted as a victory. When faced with overwhelming private concerns, a small achievement can mean great victory. Let us all encourage each other to face our fears, remain steadfast in our hearts and complete the race. The greatest reward will be hearing the words, "Well done, my good and faithful servant," and receiving the gift of eternal life with Christ Jesus.
