Cracked Pot

"Yet, O Lord, your are our Father.  We are the clay, you are the potter; we are all the work of your hand."  Isaiah 64:8

When a potter forms a pot on a wheel he uses pressure either from the outside or the inside.  Pressure is used to center and align the clay on the wheel and the potter knows just how much pressure to apply.  He cannot give in to the will of the clay and he must have a steady hand.  If the post is imperfect, sometimes the potter will make the pot into a vessel for a different kind of use than originally intended.

We are referred to as the clay and the Lord is the potter who forms us into whatever kind of vessels He wants us to be.  Life often causes the vessels to become broken and imperfect, yet the light of the Son has the ability to shine through the broken places of our lives because He lives within us.

This pice is a pot that has a broken heart on one side and a broken cross on the other side.  When you look through the broken heart what you see is the cross on the other side.  Allow this symbol of remembrance to be a reminder that our God uses broken and imperfect vessels to bring the light of His Son to a dark world.
