Adonai

"And being found in fashion as a man, He humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death on the cross." Philippians 2:8

Anita pressed a wood grain design into this cross by using a piece of particle board.  Particle board is made from wood scraps, bound together with a strong adhesive, then formed under heat and pressure into stronger material.  In a similar fashion, God takes all our weakness and forms within us a strong solid character in His likeness.

The Adonai cross reminds us of the great reverence we should have for God.  The ancient custodians of scriptures were afraid to write the name Jehovah, so they substituted the word "Adonai."  Yet, this very Lord, who is deserving of such great reverence, allowed Himself to come form of a man, and gave his life on a cross.
